Measles and Yellow Fever Vaccination?

Going on a trip and the question has arisen about vaccination for the above two viruses....

Measles: I was vaccinated in my childhood and also was exposed to the virus for a two week perion when I was 10 years old. Does this mean I need to get vaccinated AGAIN at the age of 25 years??

Yellow Fever: Vaccinated during childhood but never exposed to the virus. The same question applies.

What would be the complications if I indeed contracted either of these viruses at this point in light of the facts stated above???

Appreciate your insight!

Hmm, some vaccines last for a long time, like 10 years or so, while some vaccines last for a short time. In any case, when the "limitation" has been reached for the respective vaccine, a booster shot is taken by the once-immunized individual to enable the immune system to "remember" and commit to memory the antigen contained in the vaccine.

If it has been that long since you have gotten the vaccine, I strongly suggest you getting the booster for both, because even if you have a medium serum titer in your blood for both diseases (highly unlikely though), there is a possibility that you may not be completely immune to those diseases if exposure is the matter concerned.

Hope this helps!
