Measles after vaccination?? |
both of my children have had thier measles shots, vaccinations. and both of them have gotten measles anyway. My daughter got them two weeks after her vaccine, and my son now has them two years after vaccine. All vaccines have a chance that they won't "take" The good news is that now that your kids have had the real thing, they really shouldn't get it again. I believe that's normal. Even though they got them, it should be milder cases than if they had had no vaccines. It鈥檚 possible my sister got the flu 3 weeks after her flu shot was given. When a vaccine is give it is usually a dead virus, but if you don鈥檛 ask for one you can get the LIVE virus in your body. Now if it鈥檚 been years since a shot was given it is most-likely a new strain in your body that is affecting it not the one administered. Also another factor sometimes your immune system can drop, keep in mind every 7 years or so your body鈥檚 chemical do change. Mostly allergies related that is or metabolism as well. If it get worst talk to the Dr. also see if it was a live or dead strain injected as well. Take care and happy holidays!
