Does the measles vaccine prevent shingles?

i know somebody with shingles and i am going on vacation with them. will the measles shot help me from not getting shingles? what precautions should i take?
any answers will be helpful.

i have not had the chickenpox and i have had the vaccine many years ago

If you had the chicken pox vaccine then you should be ok. If you haven't then you need to.

No, shingles is a shoot-off of Chicken Pox, not Measles.

Measles are not related to shingles. Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox. Shingles are contagious to those who have not had chicken pox or who have not been vaccinated.

you can not get the measels or shingles from another person. it is the chicken pox virus and is in your body from your exposure and has lasting places in your body. it becomes activated by stress and other issues.
