Why are doctors not detecting measles in children who have become chronically ill?

children with M.E have been found to have measles in their CNS since childhood. In not detecting and treating this viral infection these children will become unwell over a period of time and the bodies immunity will be seriously impaired as a result of these invaders. This will further damage their health as the body will now have lost it's ability to fight off infections. As the CNS weakens due to the proliferation of multiple invading microbes their will now be serious health concerns. These children will have become too ill to do normal tasks and school (If school age) will be too much for them. Symptoms will include; muscle weakness, lethargy; tiredness; headaches, weeping, sore throat, photophobia, inability to stand/ walk. Viral infections when undetected, therefore untreated, will slowly replicate themselves in the body, ravaging tissue until they finally enter the vital organs. This is a catastrophic state for the body as these organs will be unable to function.

Measles are of viral origin there is no specific treatment except for palliative and symptomatic support. Encephalitis is a common sequellae of rubeolla but except for vaccination there is not current preventive or treatment measures which can be provided once the exposure has occured.

The key is proper immunisation of all persons early in childhood in order to develop immunity in the general population and eradicate the disease. This would of course assume that after eradication all stores of weapons grade rubeolla be destroyed unlike the smallpox cultures maintained and stockpiled to be used as weapons now that routine vaccinations have ceased.

While these chronically ill children may have the measles virus in their system, not al children exposed to the measles virus will become chronically ill.

Most children are now vaccinated against this virus in infancy.

Some children are unable to be vaccinated due to allergies.

The best way of stopping this virus and hopefully protecting all children is for any child who is not allergic to products in the vaccine to be vaccinated.
