Hello , is my newborn in danger to contract measles? |
in my mom's daycare 2 sisters were detected to have measles. i was visiting the daycare on that day in the day care. is my newborn who is a month old in danger to contract measles.? i am so worried. doubtful, if you're wondering if you carried it back to him. Well first of all worrying will not keep the baby healthy or you either. But it would really depend on alot of things. Has your child had the shot yet? Did your child come into contact with the two girls? Take your newborn to the doc or call the doc and ask. I'm not sure why anyone would allow a child with measles to go to daycare. Besides the children should have been immunized for measles. I know that both of my kids had to have their MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) shots. My son had to have it before he entered daycare when he was 2 and then again before he entered kindergarten. I don't think many daycares will allow a child to attend without the proper immunizations. If you are worried about the baby then you should take him/her to the doctor. Good Luck!!! I doubt that your child is at risk simply because if the other children were not feverish while you were there they weren't contagious. Also, unless the baby was being touched or breathed on by the infected children, she should be ok. |
