Does She Have The Measles?? |
My Daughter Has been sick on and off for about 2 weeks now fever, cough, runny nose, today she woke up a rash all over her body. To me it looks like Measles but she is up to date on all her shots. Could It still be the Measles? I thought children now a days didnt get that anymore any info would help since I cant talk to her doctor for another 2 hours. It could be measles, German measles, roseola, Fifth disease, scarlet fever allergy to some medication. Even after the shot, it is possible to get modified measles. This is a milder illness and the rash starts from the body instead of from the face. If she is up to date on her shots then it is most likely not the measles. Just wondering but why do you have to wait 2 hours to see a doc? Isn't there an urgent care or ER you can take her to? She should be seen by the doc especially if she has been sick for 2 weeks. Take her in now and get this checked out. Why wait 2 hours? could be but I would be more scared of meningitis at this point sounds like the symptoms insist on being tested!! Doctors seem to blow this off. Good luck I hope all is well with her. sorry to add more fears to you, I am a mother also I had them as a child. I said they were the "strawberry ice-creams" because that's what it looked like to me. Are they small and everywhere or larger? Could be chicken pox. I don't remember having cold symptoms before the break out. If her shots are up to date then it is not measles. Are you sure it isn't chicken pox? Try pressing on the rash; if it disappears quickly when you lift your finger then it is probably just a symptom of her fever. If it "sticks" then it is some sort of genuine rash and you can ask the doctor in 2 hours. My daughter's pediatrician taught me that. Feel better soon. it sounds like roseola to me. it causes a rash after a fever. but yea just see the dr today, you never know. i highly doubt she has measles, if she is current with shots. I don't know how old your daughter is but I had 5 kids and they all got something that was called baby measels. They were all under 1 at the time. Sounds the same as what you are suggesting they all had fever too. Sometimes children get a rash caused by the fever as well. Give her alot of fluid and a nice luke warm bath. Unfortunately, it is possible to get measles even with the vaccination: If someone doesn't have the vaccine, and then contracts it, they can pass it on. This doesn't happen often thankfully. |
