Has anyone every heard of anybody getting measles from the mmr vaccination shot?

My 5 year old got the measles 2 weeks after getting his mmr shot. The doctors think he was exposed to the measles. Seems like too much of a coincidence to me. Has anyone ever heard of this? He was really sick. I could understand it more if there was an epidemic going around.

Side effects from vaccines are more common than people think. Doctors dont usually mention that part.

The CDC has a program called VAERS (The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). Most people don鈥檛 even know that this website exists because doctors and nurses usually don鈥檛 mention it. You should definately report your son's reaction to their site:
Here is the link:

Here is a list of cases that have been reported to the VAERS database. I searched for all children ages 0-2, who had reactions to the MMR vaccine. (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)

"Found 16253 records with From age '0' and To age '2' and Vaccine contains 'MMR'"
Here is the link. You can see the age of the patients along with the adverse reactions that they had to the vaccine. Click here and scroll down:

If you want to run your own search, you can just go to the bottom of the page and click on "New Search"

From your question, I can't really tell if he is still sick of if he is now better. If he is still sick, you should probably take your son to a Naturopathic Doctor. There are Vitamin treatments that can help your child make it through this ok. Homeopathic Doctors can also help treat problems caused by vaccination.

Good luck!

I am not a doctor but my nephew contracted chicken pox after his immunization. If you are unsure about a certain immunizations investigate. I know a lot of people who are against the MMR shot

Check this out and you decide:

if you have a very weak immune system you can.
if so ask the doctor.
some immunizations are just certain pieces of the disease. your body learns to kill that protein and it will kill the entire virus (such as the anthrax vaccine)
others are just weakened diseases or viruses.

yes some people can contract desises from vaccinces but the good news for your son is he will never get the measles again when hes older
