Mastectomy & chest reconsturction surgery? |
I was told in my last question that chest reconstruction surgery is done after the mastectomy, and I was wondering is chest reconstruction is required... Can I just have mastectomy or not? yes you can just have the masectomy but most women get the reconstruction so they look the same or better than they did before. the insurance usually always pays for this . You do not have to have the reconstruction, that is up to you. There are bras which will give the illussion of a brest if this is what you chose. it sounds like they are going to take the pectoral muscle also, you may want to consider some type of reconstruction for that. Honey I have been 'breastless' for 21 years. Having reconstruction is entirely up to you. |
