Following a bilateral mastectomy is there a problem using estrogen gel?

My cancer had estrogen receptors and I was advised to stop estrogen hrt, but I have now been given a cream to apply locally. Has estrogen been found to cause any other kinds of cancer ie vaginal or ovarian

I can't believe that you would be given estrogen cream. I'm a 14 year breast cancer survivor and was told that I will never be able to use any kind of estrogen. Including soy products. You might want to rethink that cream. Are you sure this cream is estrogen or might it be progesterone????

As far as I know, you should not be using any type of estrogen product (ask your oncologist to be sure)...they even say that the phyto estrogens in soy products may cause cancer with estrogen receptors to grow...breast cancer can metastacize to other parts of the body... you are now in remission, but you don't always know for sure if it will be a cure....
