After mastectomy when/how to know whether a breast cancer patient REALLY needs chemo? and/or Cobalt? |
After mastectomy when/how to know whether a breast cancer patient REALLY needs chemo? and/or Cobalt? Usually the doctors will know before hand. My mother had cancer. Not breast.. but none the less.. It was in her pancreus. The doctors told us up front, that because of the severity of the cancer, they would do a low dose of both chemo and radiation... The state she was in at that state, wouldn't allow for any more.... In this case more was not better. Gotta hand it to the docs, they were right. Cancer was gone for 4 and a half years... long story short... it came back. nuff said That is decided by doctors before mastectomy not after. |

She had minimal pain (double mastectomy) & is getting her implants put in this week. The expanders were increased a little bit each... Ring your Occupational Therapists tomorrow and they will send you some more. I can't find any on line and I have a huge amount of contacts as I had Breast Cancer in 2001. Hope you make a swif... |
