Mastectomy question? |
when a woman has a breast removed, with todays technology, why cant an artificial breast be created in its place??? interesting!!!!! some women do have reconstruction and implants done after mastectomies. It can; breast reconstruction is frequently done, either using an implant or the patient's own tissue transplanted from the back, belly, or buttock. Some reconstructions are done at the time of mastectomy, some at a later date, and some women choose not to have reconstructive surgery at all - it is a lengthy and major operation, more so than the mastectomy itself. it can!!! and usual is. they usually do. I knew someone who had it replaced with stomach fat. two for one- no more cancer, liposuction, and health insurance pays for it! It can i have two false boobs constructed from the muscle from my back first one i had three years after my mastectomy and the second one i had done at the same time. I now have a perfect pair of boobs and they don't droop. It can, there are many factors in which they reconstruct the breast. One is the tram flap, they use the muscle from the abdomen area and reroute the muscle to the breast area. It doesn't look like a breast when clothes are off but but you don't have to worry about implants that need to be replace later down the road. The tram flap surgery is very extensive and recovery time is longer than using the implants, but if you gain weight the reconstructive area will all so gain wait. |
