How long after a mastectomy can you not use the affected arm for blood pressures, blood draws, and IVs? Never.....It doesn't matter when a person has had a mastectomy, we post a sign at the Pt's bedside NOT to do BPs, IVs or blood draws from the arm on the side of the mastectectomy. The exception is when there has been a double mastectomy. lee1946 is right. |
