Specially made bra's after having mastectomy? |
does anyone know where i could get one and how much they cost? http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/home.do I now have a contact prosthesis and use sport bras - those with good support and high necks. Also, tri-athelon swimwear usually has really high necks. I found that the special mastectomy ones weren't high necked enough so not worth the money. Report It Check with Y-Me. It's an organization that offers services to women who are dealing with breast cancer and one of the things they offer help with is special bras. Their link is: http://www.y-me.org http://www.harwayeslingerie.com/product.... Speak to the hospital, some provide a service where they have a team of volunteers who will alter the bras you already have - my nan had all hers done when she had a breast removed. Hope this helps. I know that Marks and Spenser have them, my aunt had a mastectomy 1yr ago and i know that she gets hers from there, they have trained fitters that will measure you and make sure you have a bra that fits correctly, they also have bras with pockets at both sides depending on which side you have had removed but if you ask in store they should be more than happy to help. Hope you get on ok. If your physician or hospital can't help you, check with a medical equipment store or at certain department stores will carry them. They will specially fit you with one, but I'm not sure of the cost. |
