Having a diagnosis of DCIS then a bilateral mastectomy preformed, what follow up treatment is good or needed?

Stage 0 -- Lumpectomy plus radiation or mastectomy is the standard treatment. There is some controversy on how best to treat Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).

Even if there is no evidence of the cancer spreading to the lymph nodes or other organs, you should have regular follow ups with your oncologist for several years. At the least you should be followed with blood work to look for certain markers that may indicate the cancer has spread. Sometimes tamoxifen or another drug is prescribed, depending on the type of cancer.

I am a 3 year survivor and see my oncologist every 6 months for at least 7 years.

I see my breast surgeon every 6 months.
