What are the subtle changes after a mastectomy mine is recent? |
also im going to have re-construction.what are the changes there.. you will be sore that is a given.... with reconstruction depending on what you want whether it is a latissiumus dorsi flap, tram or just tissue expander personally the tram and lat flap are going to give you way far more the down time than just a simple tissue expander.... i know this becaus ei worked with reconstructive surgeons for 13 years... if you have enough skin on your chest i would always go with the tissue expander only..... it is not the most real looking yes lat flap is the most real looking but you are looking at a recovery of maybe 6 weeks and that of tram too and possible and usually always fluid accumulations and aspirations at the doctors office( you wil have many drains with la t flap as well with tram...drains are a pain but a must and you might have one with a tissue expander but not like that of the latter mentioned).... i truly wish you well as I know from experience working with patients going through this ,,,, it is a hard road and i pray the best for you and your choice- let me know what you choose and feel free to contact me if you have further questions.. i did work with breast cancer reconstruction pts for several years so feel free to contact me with any and every question you might possibly have! |
