Marijuana and Breast Augmentation?

I'm an avid marijuana smoker, and I'm going into surgery on Thrusday (8/16). I was wondering if marijuana has any adverse effects during or after surgery? I understand that the nicotine in tobacco prevents normal healing (hence why the doctor tells you to quit before), but since marijuana doesn't have nicotine, am I okay?

I don't think you will have a problem.

Your surgeon and anesthesiologist MUST know that you smoke marijuana. Your surgeon and anesthesiologist must know every medication you are taking--over-the-counter, prescription, herbal supplements, or street drugs.

Some of the medications you may be receiving before, during, and after surgery may interact with the marijuana in your system. Some of these interactions may be potentially fatal!

Since I (and probably you) don't know exactly what medications you may be receiving, the interactions cannot be predicted. However, you don't want complications such as respiratory depression (as in stopping breathing) or dangerous hypertension (as in high blood pressure and stroke) to occur because you don't tell your healthcare providers all medications you are taking.

The fact that marijuana is illegal is beside the point here. The point is that if you have a drug-drug interaction, it may be very serious.
