Marijuana and breast surgery?

im a daily marijuana smoker and im getting breast implants on Thursday...
Has anyone got implants and didnt stop smoking...
Please anyone with breast implants can u tell me how u felt when u woke up and the recovery..etc... please tell me anything u know... im really really excited and scarred at the same time!!!
...back to the smoking part... i love to smoke marijuana.. just wondering if anyone out there has smoked marijuana within a few days of surgery... and is there any risks and comps with smoking it before

Its not going to harm you in any way so don't worry. I smoked before and after major surgery with no side effects what so ever.

Stop smoking. It can only make things worse. It will lengthen healing time and will cause you issues later.

all i can say is STOP SMOKING!!

you should be ok if its just a joint

I would recommend informing the Doctor that you are a smoker. I don't believe they are obligated to share that information with any authorities and it would be the safest way to ensure you don't have any bad interactions.

You might want to google Marijuana smoke toxins...the smoke from it is worse than any tobacco...it will destroy your brain...if it isn't to late already!

Dependency is the worst part about it, your pre-surgical blood work may show up and will postpone your procedure. As for the risk please consult with your doctor about everything.

I smoke marijuana, too. Well ... not at the moment because I am pregnant ... and although I don't think it would be particularly harmful to the baby, I would rather be safe than sorry. Anyway, you should just be straight about it and ask the doctor. They won't scold you or anything, and they should definitely know. You won't get in trouble, I promise. But I'm pretty sure they will tell you not to do it in that time frame at least, because they will be giving you anesthesia and stuff and it might not interact very well, or it might alter the effect that your anesthesia is supposed to have. Just be safe! You can always go back to smoking as soon as you're done! :-)

Doctors will state that smoking is considered a no-no because of the anaesthetic.

If you have been smoking on a daily basis - surgery will not impose a problem. My partner had surgery under a general anaesthetic and smoked marijuana before and after the surgery... he was fine.

Good luck with everything...

Smoking of any kind can slow healing of surgical sites, as well as be unsafe for the administration of general anesthesia. You really should have stopped smoking of any kind.

WELL IT WILL B PAIN-FULL and once u taking pain medicine mixing it with weed in Ur system is not a good idea....

stop smOKing weeks before the implants and start right after to ease the pain....... ok good luck!!!

I've personally had surgery and gone home and smoked that same day. I was fine, however, everyone is different. I think it would be in your best interest to stop until you're feeling back to yourself and maybe talk to your doctor before the surgery to make sure it won't complicate things. It is, after all, your body and your life at stake.

look at all these idiots who have no idea even what marijuana does. "marijuana will destroy your brain!" yeah right. i been smoking since i was a freshman and i am now in my last few months of college and i have never dropped below a 3.0...EVER.

but as for the surgery part i bet it would be ok to smoke because the pain pills and drugs they give you are 10x more dangerous than marijuana could ever imagine to be.

ye tell em the person above me. i hate ignorant people that CANNOT face the fact that marijuana is damaging and that there is no realy proof of it causing damage.

I smoked maybe 2 days after surgery. So did my friend. No big deal. But with all your pain meds it's just going to knock you out.

No risk....but you should get off the pot

Your making a bad choice..when it comes to marijuana.I think you should try to stop..
