Marijuana or Xanax?

I am taking xanax and I kinda want to stop and look for other alternatives like marijuana. I am looking for honest and informative answers. Will marijuana give me the same effects as xanax? Are they the same? I haven't tried marijuana, so I really don't know much about it, but what I do know is that I rather not take medications. Can someone please help?

well considering that you can become addicted to Xanax and i have had some friends with some NASTY addictions that have almost completely ruined their lives i would say try out marijuana. Depending on the state you can get medical marijuana with a perscription so maybe that would help with paranoia since it would me legal for you. Also seeing that you have never tried it, i recommend that you make your first time relaxing and enjoyable. I have found that people who have tried weed and didnt like it is most likely due to the experience they had, not the actual effects. So you may want to smoke with a friend who knows what their doing and also in the safety of your own home. then sit back, play some tunes, and enjoy.

Well...xanax is legal if you have a prescription. I take xanax and I hate how marijuana effects me. It makes me very paranoid. I'm not relaxed at all.

They are very different. Marijuana is a minor hallucingen with depressent properties, and Xanax is an analgesic with sedative properties. Marijuana does not kill pain, distorts vision, and changes your emotions. Xanax often feels like alcohol without any emotion. If you think it could benefit you, go ahead and try it, as it can help you sleep well, and possibly a mood upper as well. It's basically your choice.

If u want to take marijuana for Anxiety i dont think that itll help. because weed relaxes u and ur mind but if u have really bad anxiety then sometimes being that deep in thought can cause u to have unrational thoughts...i didnt try it like u want to, but i used to do it to relax...then i developed depression and anxiety and everything went to ****...i had really hard time trying to relax cause id worry for everything...maybe if u tried doing a little of both...that might chill u out

I have taken Xanax and it make me act mean, i smoke marijuana daily, i think it is less strong than zan. They are a lot alike. I wouldn't take pills try the green from the earth some people don't like it but i live by it. It helps my depression A LOT, it helps me eat and sleep and i can study in peace. on zan i can't concentrate on anything.

both are legal if you have a prescription... but only 13 states allow you to get a prescription (because the federal government unconstitutionally regulated intrastate trade)... they're not the same. if you're in a legal state ask your doctor.

Marijuana does relieve depression in me and some people I know, Having a very small dose of marijuana in your system is optimal for relieving sadness and doesn't affect your coordination, thinking, etc. until you smoke a decent amount.
