Help = Marijuana?

I was spoken to in a large group about hemp. Before that, I had no preconceptions and never thought about hemp. In that meeting they told me that hemp is illegal for no good reason. You CAN smoke it, but it does not have any effect on you like marijuana does, and you can in fact smoke a telephone pole sized amount of hemp and nothing will happen. They said hemp is a totally different plant from marijuana and grows like corn, so does not look like marijuana. So then I started asking people, and everyone I know thinks hemp is a part of marijuana that you can't get high off of. What's going on here!

The cannabis species plant has different breeds of the plant. Some of them produce so little of the drug THC that they might as well not produce any for the effect it would give. Those varieties are called Industrial Hemp. It is a legal plant to grow in every industrialized nation except the US.

The last couple lines of what your message is talking about the perception that Hemp is just the stalk and roots and doesn't include the flower,etc. There is no THC in the stalk of the plant. Marijuana users throw that part out or make jewelry out of it.

if hemp doesn't do anythign whats the point of smoking it at all? your weird. how bout don't smoke anything. hemp is like that stuff you make bracelets out of..like hemp bracelets isn't it? its like straw i think. its probably illegal bc if you mix it and stuff then maybe it can hurt you. obviously things are illegal for a REASON. bc theyre BAD.

The mother plant....Hemp contains very minute traces of THC so it will only get you high if you smoke a telephone pole amount......maybe from smoke inhilation alone...
Hemp can make a hoard of products.....plastic...rope...clothing..... for much cheaper and safer to the environment.....
Dupont lobbyed....which means they payed off law makers to make Hemp illegal a long time ago so they wouldn't lose money.....putting out an inferior product....that is why marijuana is illegal.....and hemp is making a comeback.......now the weed is excellent and has evolved like any living species....it will propably never be legalized.....

Hemp is made from the male Cannabis plant while Marijuana/buds grow from the female plant. The male plant does not grow buds but instead grows small round pollen sacks. In the wild, the males grow slightly taller than females because when their the ripe age to produce the males pollen sacks open and spread pollen onto all the females which pollenate them and allow seeds to grow in the buds. Female plants that are grown away from males will produce buds as well however, the buds will contain no seeds (Sensimillia).
