Marijuana withdrawals? |
I just quit, well i wouldnt say quit... paused my smoking of weed last friday for awhile so i can get my drivers permit(my parents are making me pass a drug test b4 i start driving) this whole week i was depraved of sleep and i had almost no appetite. and now, this friday, its been a week, and im just f*cking pissed off at everything. things that i normally just blow off(im not an angry person). things like my computer being slow, little kids on xbox live, not landing a trick while skating, just things like that. Ive smoked marijuana since i was 9-10 and now im 16, so i have been smoking for 6 years now, and i have had to quit before for different reasons and this has never happened to me before when i had to quit for up to 4-6 months a couple times. at least not that i can remember... ive always heard f marijuana withdrawals, but i have never experienced them before, and i thought it was just another thing that they used to make marijuana look worse. is this normal? is there anything i can do to help calm me down/bring my appetite back up besides sparkin up a blunt again? i need to buy a punching bag to help my anger... First of all, marijuana is not addictive. You've been numbing your senses on a regular basis for a while now and reality may take some getting used to. Also, giving up any habit can be depressing. Depression can manifest as anger. Stay away from your friends who still smoke, go ahead and get a punching bag. Know that you're doing the right thing for oh so many reasons. Know that you're lucky to have such brilliant parents. Listen to lots of music- get hooked on that. Being a pothead isn't good..it can make you get messed up in the head.. That's what happened to me.. I was using pot for 2 years, when I quit, I got psychotically aggressive for two months that scared the wits off of my husband ( he's now my ex) I think you'd should quit for good.. This stuff isn't good for you, it makes you stupid! there is no such thing as "withdrawls" from marijuana because there is no physical addiction. your just being cranky or something. go running, it will calm you down, help the THC get out of your system a little, and maybe even get you a little hungry. dont blame the weed, its your friend. I stopped smoking pot a year ago. Became clean for reasons beyond me. Anyways I was addicted( yeah u can get addicted) and had been smoking since I was 12 and I am now 18. So anyways your appetite is going to increase...if your really worried, start smoking lol justttt kidding. I used to smoke too. anyways Yes you go through withdrawals after quiting. You're just going to either deal with the bit of weight gain OR start working out. YES! getting a punching bag REALLY helps. Besides everyone knows your only a stoner to suppress the mad rage inside of you. Or atleast thats what we were telling each other. Hah this probably wasn't helpful, but sorry. Good on you for quiting though! it's hard but after the first few weeks you are as good as gold. I think it's very normal for a person to be in hard times when going through withdrawal because the definition of withdrawal is the physical and psychological symptoms that occur when someone stops using an addictive drug. THC is a drug found in marijuana and can make you feel relaxed, frightned, nervous, numb, and distracted from problems. It also makes you think everything seems dull except for marijuana itself. Withdrawal is a very hard thing to go through and often people give up during it. But i get why your parents are trying to get you to stop besides getting your liscense, it stimulates, depresses ,and can make you hallucinate. It also damages the lungs and marijuana smoke contains some cancer substances like tobacco. Im 29 years old now and I spoked pot for 8 years straight. I quit when I was 23. At first, I had the same symptoms that you are going through. Mainly irritability. Moderate paranoia and a feeling of boredom. The answer.. TIME! give it a chance. These feelings will go away and you be fine. Time is the key..I still have friends who smoke every day.. They are actually very successful but you can tell the weed has taken a toll on them.. Anyway, It can be done with patience. have you tried getting one of those relaxing CD's with the music or sounds like a running spring. use head phones and just clear your mind of all thoughts and when you notice a thought about anything coming into your mind you just mentally push it out so you are completely relaxed. |
