Why do you think marijuana should be legalized in the U.S.?

let's say, marijuana was legalized, what will happen to this world? What will happen to our future kids? Marijuana is addicted, once you smoke a little , you want to smoke another ten puffs again. Why marijuana is bad for society ? If we legalized marijuana what are bad conditions to us? What are the facts about "evil" marijuana? :P

I *don't* think marijuana should be legalised. Anywhere.

Those who talk about "reducing the notoriety" of the drug (those who do it *because* it's illegal; or find attractiveness because of it) by legalising it and thus controlling it's trafficking are fooling themselves - it won't stop it, in fact, it'll introduce a lot more to the drug - those who don't want to because it's illegal; it'll spread and spread.

It carries several ill-effects. Impotence. Hallucination. Reduced response. Dithering. Addiction. Respiratory problems.

There is no logic in legalising it.

They have already proven Marijuana helps some people with their Health Problems. So i believe it should be legalized in the U.S. As it stands now prisons are full of people who use it Another thing it would do is save the Tax Payers alot of Money. But nobody cares about that right????

I fail to see what this has to do with Men's health.There are other categories that this is suitable for e.g politics,sociology,government or law and order

Well Im from the UK, but if you dont mind my opinion..

I always used to put down Cannabis, but on the other hand I always used to be a social drinker.. and the first time I got suckered into trying Cannabis, I didnt really think there was much differance from Alcohol at all..

Drink is the biggest killer out there, but thats not really well publicised since the Government rakes in such a huge fortune out of taxing it.
Over here the goverment rakes in hundreds of millions from Alcohol, but only uses 1 Million of that money to show people the dangers of drinking..
.. and not to mention its even been a pastime since the Egyption times so its not like its going to stop now!..


But out of personal experience, Ive always thought Marijuana to be a great help to people who have sleeping problems, or who need a powerful pain killer..
or even something to make them think alot of in depth about things which are important.
As well as listen to and conduct music a whole lot better.

I do believe that moderation is a must with marijuana as with anything.. Ive seen people who smoke it that much that they practically seem like they're brain is functioning 10x slower.. and that they are a shell of what they once was..
But then again.. isnt alcohol like that?..

Ive never found it to be addictive personally, but I can see how it might be to people who aint got nothing better to do.. or seem to want to distance themselves from reality
So there would need to be some warning into that if it was ever made legal..

Also another technical way to look at it, is the THC percentage in 'Legal' Cannabis.
Most POWERFUL strains have a 20%++ percentage, and I would'nt find that suitable for a person to take when on the road, or doing anything which involves effort or risk.. but rather in their own homes or somewhere safe..
I think Cannabis made legal at around a 10% THC rating would'nt be so bad for people out on the town in a social occasion.

but as for a world which is ridden with alcohol, which causes so much domestic violence, death and all other sorts of problems.. I dont really think it would cause much harm.

Drug use would increase. It would be much cheaper, more available and more widespread than it currently is when all legal risk is removed and demand is increased for marketing.
Legalization will not eliminate marijuana use among young people any more than legalizing alcohol eliminated underage drinking. The truth is, every year medical researchers discover greater dangers from smoking it, from links to serious mental illness to the risk of cancer, and even dangers in utero exposure.
In answering your question, pretty much everybody would be smoking marijuana. A lot of the kids would probably pick up the habit and that's where the parent's need to step in and tell them that it's wrong and dangerous. Marijuana kills your brain cells and makes you hallucinate, your reation time is much slower, and you have a host of other problems.

For me, it takes away the urge to drink alcohol, it relaxes me, and it eases depression. If it were legal, I would grow it in my home. Alcohol is far more damaging to individuals, families, and society, so why is it legal? No drug is totally safe, including prescription drugs. Besides, if pot were legal, law enforcement agencies could spend their time and money chasing criminals that are actually a danger to society.
