Medical Marijuana Lets here your thoughts?

What are your thoughts of using marijuana for medical purposes?
Do you feel the pharmaceutical company's use the general public as "guinea pigs" for there new expensive drugs?
Which do you feel is better Marijuana or Codeine for pain?
How much do you no about the Medical Marijuana cards we have here in Oregon?

Personally I've found pot beats Midol, Pamprin and all the other pills for cramp relief. It is the best muscle relaxer I've ever found. I wish we had medical cards in my state too; I hate to break the law just to keep from acting like hell on wheels once a month.

there is nothing wrong with smoking the reefer for pain relief, however you know the rule! everyting in excess is considered harmful.

If we legalize marijuana, people won't be able to distinguish the words "hear" and "hear".....and won't know when to use and not use apostrophes.... ;-)

However, while I've never used, as a nurse, I personally think decriminalizing marijuana for medical and for recreational use is fine. Codeine is probably better for pain. I live in NY and know nothing about the Oregon med. marijuana cards.

Well first of all, I don't see why we don't legalize marijuana to begin with. Achohal impares your judgement and cigarettes cause lung cancer yet we don't make those illegal. If people of a mature age want to smoke marijuana why are we telling them no? About medical marijuana I think the main reason for being careful to not use it too often is that unlike codeine, marijuana can cause lung cancer. Why proscribe something to us that has a greater risk. If nothing else works and the patient is willing to take the risk or they are dying anyway, than why not help ease their pain with marijuana.

i feel anyone that thinks they can feel better if they were just a little bit higher is a good medical candidate.

I think MM is a valid treatment for some people for nausea. But I think a lot of pot heads have exploited it so much that we will never sort out who really needs to use it.
I don't think Marijuana will help with pain at all.
If we really want to make it a valid remedy then we need to bottle it and dispense it through a doctor and pharmacy.

In theory, the whole idea of using medicinal marijuana as treatments in extreme medical cases is a good plan. The problem with this law is there is so many people who are taking advantage of the numerous crooked doctors in our area who are prescribing it like its going out of style. Yes, it relieves pain. Does it work better or is it safer than other narcotic pain relievers? We might never figure this out due to the fact that the people being tested are chronic users anyway! I live in southern Oregon, and I know in this region you can have up to 25 plants in your possession at one time with the card. You are also allowed to have a helper or caretaker assist you with growing your crop. Now anyone with any memory of their high school experience will realize that 25 plants produces way more than any one person can partake in a year! Hope this helps.
