Question about chromosomal disorder: Marfan's Syndrome?

Why are there no treatments available for Marfan's Syndrome as a whole?

Hi Rachel.
There is a trial going on now with the hopes that Losartan will prevent a lot of the problems that are Marfan related. Other than that the standard treatment is the use of Beta Blockers to reduce the pressure put on the circulatory system. I guess that the major problem is lack of funding for research. Do you have Marfan's? If you would like to talk about it, please feel free to contact me. I have a lot of experience and a lot of friends with Marfans.

addendum: I was talking with some of my friends last night and they said "There is a treatment. it's called surgery". But I am thinking that surgery is precisely what most would do what they can to avoid!
