Does anyone know anything about Marfan Syndrome? |
I know a little, but I really don't need any cut and paste answers. My best friend has it and I wondered if there were support groups for the friends of people with it, not just for the family members. I DON"T NEED CUT AND PASTE ANSWERS! The Marfan syndrome is a heritable condition that affects the connective tissue. The primary purpose of connective tissue is to hold the body together and provide a framework for growth and development. In the Marfan syndrome, the connective tissue is defective and does not act as it should. Because connective tissue is found throughout the body, the Marfan syndrome can affect many body systems, including the skeleton, eyes, heart and blood vessels, nervous system, skin and lungs. First of all, I'd like to take my hat off to you for taking an interest in your friend, and wanting to know more about what he/she deals with on a daily basis. It's refreshing to see. |
