Marfan's syndrome?

Can marfan's effect a childs learning and give symptons of adhd?

Children with Marfan Syndrome can exhibit and/or have adhd. Work with your aea to be sure your child is getting adjustments needed based on their symptoms. For instance, if has eye problems make sure they are sitting close enough to the teachers board to see everything written; if learns fast, which many do, be sure they are being challenged and aren't just bored; if their symptoms cause other children to make fun of them this can be distracting, so I know parents who make sure the child can take tests in a separated area without taunting. Only you and the teachers know how your child is responding to stimulants but it is worth looking into further before medicating for adhd only.

Marfan's syndrome is a genetic disorder of the connective tissue. It is characterized by long limbs, long thin fingers, a relatively tall stature and a predisposition to cardiovascular abnormalities, specifically affecting the heart valves and aorta. It is not responsible for causing ADHD or affect learning.

From my understanding, no. They thought my daughter had marfans, but then we found that marfans also has "duck like" webbing in the fingers, along with the longer bones as the other posters have suggested.
However, what my daughter did have, that also can have ADD or ADHD symptoms, is lyme disease and other tick borne illnesses. My daughter and another friends daughter were both suspect of marfans, and it turned out to be lyme. The heart valve problems in my daughter, while stll are damaged have not continued to progress and her heart rhythym is no longer an issue needing medication to control it now that she was treated for Lyme disease by the ILADS standard (vs IDSA) standard of care.
Be sure to understand both standards of care, which include different diagnostic approaches. We found the IDSA standard only allowed a few weeks of treatment, leaving our daughter very ill. However, when we persued the ILADS standard of care, she improved gradually over about four years from very sick with cardiac and neurological issues including cognitive learning and diagnosis with Autism, to being a college nursing student with straight A's and no longer on any medications for seizures, heart or anything except lyme disease treatment as needed. Our family no longer believes post lyme is post lyme, it was undertreated infection in our case.
