I'm scared. do i have marfan's syndrome? how do i find out for sure?

I'm tall and thinwith long fingers but not very long, just a tiny bit longer than usual--but that runs in my family and i haven't finished growing--all my family are extremely thin before puberty is finished and my sister still is
my whole family is tall
is 5"6 really tall for a girl 15 years old?
heart disease runs in my family too

my face is heart shaped and long and im nearsighted

OMG!! OMG! do i have it???!!! how do i know for sure?

am i going to die???? OMG!

this is serious i don;t want to die yet!

i'm freaking out!

can you cure it?

Sure doesn't sound like it. Get busy doing things with your friends. Join some activity at school; a club or do a sport. Keep your mind active so you don't have so much time to worry.

Go to a doctor.
You're not going to find a ton of profesionals on here.

You watch too much tv. There is no definitive test to diagnose Marfan's Syndrome (a collagen disorder)--only by going through a list of symptoms.
If you said you were 6'2" then I might be concerned.
But, 5'6" is by no means extraordinarily tall.
The fact that everyone in your family is tall and thin and have long fingers logically explains why you do as well.

Marfan's is not a very common disease. In fact many of the people who think that they have this---guys who are 6'5"+ and have cardiac problems---actually often have growth hormone problems.

Turn off the tv, sounds like you are watching too much Discovery Health or reading too much about things.
Enjoy life.

5'6 isn't too tall. I know a girl whos 15 and almost 6ft. you seem normal enough. plus, usually you would grow to normal height and have long limbs. you could just be an ectomorph. you should go to a doctor if you are this worried. but only 0.02% of people have it. you cant cure it but you can live longer with treatment stuff.

5'6" is perfectly fine for a fifteen year old girl.

you definitely do not sound like you have it.

near-sightedness is definitely different from the lens dislocation or cataracts that are symptoms of marfan's syndrome. also, arachnodactyly is a characteristic of marfan's syndrome, but being slightly taller than average is different from that. I have a girl friend who is fifteen and is 5'11". you're fine.

if you DO want to be sure, go see a doctor. but I think you do have hypochondria. :]
