I'm scared....pls help?

I have been
doing a lot of research on Marfan Syndrome, and am so scared that i may have it. I am 5"9, which is very tall for a woman. I have very slim wrists and ankles, and a slim face. I haven't noticed any heart problems.My spine doesn't seem to be curved, at least i hope it isn't. I Measured my arm span to height ratio, and my height is actually a few inches longer, so guess i don't have long arms, and don't have very long fingers, infact thay are shorter than my sisters who is only 5"2.. but i am very near sighted, and I had to have orthodontic treatment to correct an overbite and narrow jaw. I just really feel like i might have it. I'm not particularly skinny, just a normal weight. I can also touch my wrist with my thumb, but when I tried to see if I could overlap my 5th and 1st fingers around my wrist, they didn't even touch. I guess i am not gonna get many answers as most ppl probably don't even know what Marfans is. i really don't want 2 have a degenerative disease.pls hlp

I am 21 years of age. Oh, I forgot 2 mention I am also have flat feet. Argh.

The only way to know for certain is to be tested for it. However, many people who are tall have short parents, and vice-versa. I agree with the others about reading symptoms - I no longer read my medical book, as it seemed that I had half the diseases in it!

You need to stop worrying yourself. Do you know you could go search symptoms online for anything, and talk yourself into thinking you have 8876891269786349128 diseases? If you're really concerned talk to your doctor who can run a test and you can find out right away.

I think you should consult a doctor if you think you are really suffering from this disease. No answer on here can compare to the diagnosis of a doctor.

You didn't mention how old you are. If you're an adult express your concerns with a reputable doctor. If you are underage, express those concerns to your parents and ask them to have you examined. In the interim, do not fear that which you have no control over.

i dont know what it is but what uv described i can do most of them so i mite have it wawell at least we wouldnt be alone if we do have it

I doubt there is anything wrong with you. You are just tall and skinny. It happens. It doesn't have to be a disease. If you are truly concerned, you can see your Md but I think you are working yourself up.

Most people who read up on diseases think that they have one or more of them. I wouldn't worry about it unless a doctor tells you that there is something to worry about, and at least at that point you can get some advice on how to deal with it.

STOP READING ABOUT MARFANS! If you are really concerned go see your doctor, but it sounds to me that you have just over-worrying. Now stop it and go have a happy holiday.

Quit stressing out and go to the doctor and discuss this. A doctor can tell you for sure if you have Marfan Syndrome and tell you what to do it that is the case.

Go and talk to your local doctor about this, nobody can answer this with a 100% answer without seeing you.

I doubt you do have it. Just because you're tall and you've had to have orthodonic procedures and near sighted means nothing. However, if you are worried go to your doctor and get tested.

You barely have any symptoms at all. I think you're a hypochondriac. If you're honestly concerned that you may have a disease go to a doctor.

Marfan syndrome is only known to be associated with that which you have listed, not cited as a direct result. The only way to know if you do indeed have the syndrome is to contact a local medical facility. As it is regularly diagnosed early in life, however, it is probably safe to say that you are fine, albeit tall.

I wish I had more time to answer you, but let me give what you what I can.
Go vegetarian, eat 75% raw vegies and fruits, and no animal products whatsoever. Eat only whole grains and whole grain foods instead of white bread, white rice, and so on. Limit highly your sugar and sweet intake. Use the 8 natural doctors in your daily habits - pure air, pure water, sunshine, exercise, rest, temperance, good diet and trust in God.
I believe in Jesus, and have seen Him do miracles for me, just remember - He wants us to do our part, and He will do all the rest (which always is much more)!

I just saw a documentary on television about Marfan Syndrome and I guess you need to think about how old your relatives were when they passed away and what the cause of death was. For your own sanity, I suggest having the sonogram or whatever test they do to check your aorta and see if it's enlarged near your heart. If it is then you can have corrective surgery. Make sure that you see a cardiologist.

I doubt that you have Marfan Syndrome from your description but if you're so worried then you should visit your doctor for a consultation to soothe your nerves.
