Can you diagnose me?

In March of 2007 I started experiencing chest pain, but it wasn't my heart. I had a lot of pain and now there is tightness in my neck and back and the doctor cannot figure it out. It is not Fibromyalgia and I have bee tested for everything and the tests are coming back negative. I have no lyme disease or lupis, ALS, MS or Marfan's Syndrome. Can anyone help me? I am going to DHMC in NH next week and wanted to know if anyone could think of anything for me to bring up to them?...

It sounds so much like you have oesphageal spasm.

It's where the oesphagus cramps up through inco-ordination or lower oesphageal pressure.

It is very painful and mimics a heart attack.

A manamotry test will show up ANY problems with the mechanical movement and pressure in the oesphagus.
A Gastroscopy should be something else they should refer you to have.
A Barium swallow also.

Do you have any trouble swallowing? Does it feel as if something is stuck in that area or just above?

Either add to the post or e-mail me.

I have the same problem and been through all the tests.
It feels so lonely not being able to find the cause.

Have you been checked for nerve injuries and/or spinal injuries?

It could be signs of a mild stroke or heart attack. chest pain definately and tightness definately. I'm glad you're reffering to doctors. good luck.

could be a muscle guarding or spasm problem in the serratus anterior. see a physical therapist for strain counterstrain or a chiropractor or both for this condition if you have serious medical issues ruled out, which it sounds like you have

You might want to think about gallstones. I have them, and it makes my chest hurt sometimes after I eat fatty/fried foods. Just a suggestion.

Try stress. You maybe having panic attacks and or suffering from depression. I would say that it sounds more like a stress related issue. Are you under a lot of stress in your life? Have you had a lot of stress in your life say the month before all this started. I would say it is a stress disorder myself. I am not a doctor but maybe being put on something like low dose xanax would help with it. Good luck. Try to think about what there is in your life that maybe causing stress, school, getting into college, work, parents, family, friends? I mean there is something triggering this and that is what you need to find out and deal with. The medication will help level you out. You are not relaxing enough, and are suffering from stress related panic attacks. Hey I could be wrong but that's what it sounds like to me. =)

Gas in your intestines can cause all kinds of strange (and severe) pains in your body. Try taking gas-x if it happens again and if it works, you will know. Neck pain can be caused by anything. Look into inversion tables and other fitness routes. You should save your money and go to a chiropractor, acupuncturist, or even just a good masseuse.

Try doing yoga for other aches and pains. I know it's not my place to say, but it sounds like you're being paranoid. You need to relax because the stress of thinking you're seriously ill WILL make you sick. Heal your soul, and your body will follow.

I'm guessing a pinched nerve or possibly a slipped disc.Have them do an MRI on your back and neck.Do you remember when it started? Was it after a sporting event or some other activity?Did you have a fall before it started?

could it be anxiety?
