I`am a 45 year old male and I have bipolar manic depressive illness and I have no social skills to meet people

I`am looking for a lady freind who might be bipolar and understands why I fill this way.I hardly ever start a conversation because I fill like I say it wrong and people would think I`am stupid so if there is any one out there who needs a friend please get in touch with me.

It sounds like you should be on meds for your bipolar. Once you have that stablized I'd recommend seeing a psychologist to work on cognitive issues. You need to have a strong self image and then you'll be fine in social settings-it will take time though.

And on another...a lot of people that aren't bipolar worry about the same thing. It's insecurities. Usually if people are confident with themselves they feel better about social settings.

You need to be on medications.

talk to psychologist.. as long as you know what the problem is than you will find a solution
i don't raccomend you drugs unless you get angry and violent

try Yahoo Personals, not Yahoo Answers
good luck and all

Get your doc to put you on a anti-depressant as well as anti psychotic med the two interact and help people who are biopolar, this will help you ease up and feel more comfortable as well. I know my fiancess is bipolar, no worries you just need to start feeling comfortable with yourself and you will get there.

My mother is bipolar also, and she doesnt meet well with others either. So her advise is have casual sex with strange people like yourself.

Maybe right now it would be better to get some help and direction in controlling your mental illness. There are many, many people who also have Bipolar Disorder. If you talk to your doctor, he/she may know of agencies that she can refer you too. Sometimes caretakers may come to your home if you're unable to get out. Also, check in the front of your phone book under "Community Services" There may be something there. Or the "National Institute of Mental Health". If you don't find anything, you may call your doctor and ask to be referred to a Mental Health Agency. You may also need meds to control the illness. This is nothing to be ashamed about. Everyone needs to take care of themself, and to make it back into society. You need to speak with professionals. You can do it! Good luck!

My marriage to a bipolar man is in the final stages of a divorce because of many things, but most significantly because the Bi-Polar disorder is a difficult addition to a relationship. When my husband was well, it was because he was controlled with medication. When he went off his meds and was manic, he had poor judgment, spent a lot of money, and was very irritable with the smallest thing. When depressed he slept a lot. It often made me feel like his illness and our marriage was just too much for him. So what I'm getting at is that you should get yourself squared away first and then think about entering into a relationship with others. Hope that helps or if you'd like more info I'm glad to share. cole2echo@yahoo.com
