What are the qualifications to gain disablilty for mental illness? |
My daughter is 18 but unable to work. She is Bipolar, Manic depressive, OCD, and has panic disorder. How can I find information on possibly putting her on disability? She might qualify for SSI, Supplemental Security Income. She (or you) can call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 to make an appointment to file the application. An appointment, either in office or over the telephone will be made with your nearest branch office. call your local social security office and your local office of DSHS Go to your local DHS office and they can help you with getting assistance for her. Here is the site to apply for disablity http://www.ssa.gov/disability/ Go To SS And Inquire. They Will Need It To Be Documented Properly Up To And Including Past Treatment. Sounds Like Shes Entitled To About $900 A Month. Good Luck To You. You might have to talk to the disability offices about that. |
