My doctor is extremely invasive and will stop at nothing to~~~~~~~,? |
get you to do things he wants regardless of what i think.it seems that i have no say in the way my health care is managed.i have changed my doctor and made my first appointment before i went to my old doctor yesterday meaning that he will not see me again.hes not compassionate ,he lacks bedside manners and hes extremely crude, did i do the right thing by ditching him? no funny answers!!or insults. i am an adult senior, the doctor in question is younger than i am so he should repect his elders right? Change doctors. You are paying him so don't pay someone you don't like, ESPECIALLY if he isn't listening to you. Ditch him and move on. You did the right thing, now stick with it. I would not have even told him you changed. Get the new one, have your records sent over, and if he calls just say you are not going to him anymore and that you changed. I am so glad you are doing this. This Dr sounds awful. Hope it works out with the new one. Report It seems like your ego is bruised .....i notice this alot with older people...just because your older doesnt mean you know everything...he went to school to be a doctor and in the end he knows alot more then you do...now if he is being rude like saying your fat...your gross...ya change doctors...but if he is like no sir your wrong...this is how it works...swallow your pride...your not always right... You absolutely did the right thing and yes he should respect his elders and obvisiously doesn't. This is your health he has in your hands and yet he doesn't seem to care. It sounds like to me that the doctor oath is merely spoken and not followed thru very much anymore. Good Luck with this new doctor and hopefully this one will respect you and what decisions you may want to make with your health care. God Bless! HE is working for YOU!! of course you should find someone else if you aren't satisfied. Its sad but there are more than a few doctors out there that may be excellent physicians, but are poor excuses for human beings. The only way to have a chance at changing them is throuhg the pcketbook, You can also report him/her to the state medical association or the group for which he works (hospital , clinic, etc.) YES, you did right. It is important to feel comfortable with your doctor - being able to ask questions, getting honest and complete answers, and discussing the options is extremely important. Remember, the doctor is just one person in your health care team and you have the final say. Don't let them bully you. Perhaps it would be helpful to invite a trusted friend or relative along to your appointments to act as your advocate. As many of us are intimidated by doctors and feel pressured into doing what they want, an advocate can help with questions you have, remind you of answers and information you receive, and act as a sounding board. You are right to seek another doctor if this is how you are feeling! It has nothing to with age, but rather lack of respect and interest in good patient care (forget about ethics). I have witnessed doctors, young and old, behave with such a horrible attitude towards patients that it made me not want to work in the medical field any longer. Yes, there are some very compassionate doctors out there, but they seem to be in the minority these days. I am sure there are two sides to every story but the bottom line is: Patients have the absolute right to seek adequate care with a provider that makes them feel comfortable. No one deserves to be mistreated!! Good luck with your appointment. |
