Damaged Photos and Borderline Personality Disorder? |
I have been reading alot about Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and my family strongly believes that my Aunt, (my dad's sister) may have this disorder. PEOPLE WITH (BPD) CAN DO A LOT OF THING THAT ARE CRAZY AND MOST OF THE TIME THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT THEY DID IT BUT THEY DON'T ALWAYS HURT PEOPLE. MOST OF THE TIME THEY THINK PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO HURT THEM AND THEIR NOT AND THEY THINK THAT PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS TRY TO MAKE THEM LOOK BAD.WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT THINK OF IT THIS WAY BUT YOURSELF IN A ROOM AND HAVE ABOUT A HUNDER PEOPLE TALKING **** ABOUT YOU IN ALL DIFFERENT WAYS NOW THAT IS WHAT SOMEONE WITH THAT HEARS ALL THE TIME. AND THEY WILL ALSO CHANGE FOR AWHILE AND THE ONE DAY CHANGE AGAIN. ONE DAY BE HAPPY THEN THE NEXT BE MAD ABOUT NOTHING. I HOPE THAT HELPS I KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE THIS AND THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD This isn't normal behavior for anyone - but my guess is that she is suffering from Bi-Polar Disorder and was on a "high" when she cut herself out of the family pic. Is there history of chemical imbalance in the family? You could find out....lots have genetic predispositions from other family members. I would suggest that you protect your grandmother, who is defenseless, as your aunt will continue to do bizarre behavior. Borderline Personality Disorder is a recent "diagnosis" and I don't believe that it's a viable diagnosis. Your aunt seems to have violent episodes ad could be extremely dangerous...people who start destruction of pics, pets, etc are prone to homicide and/or suicide. If you care about her, try to get her help....if it's too difficult, make sure you stay out of her way, as this behavior only gets worse. I haven't heard of this type of behavior with BPD, but it could still be possible. It may have been that when she was on the down side (depressed), she felt a need to disassociate with her relatives for whatever reason. The kindest thing you may do is to recognize this behavior is done by a person who possibly has a mental illness, and try to get her in to see a psychologist. He/she will be able to understand the problem and help her deal with why this has happened, and if she is deemed with a mental illness diagnosis, she most likely will be put on medications to adjust her moods for her own good. Be sympathetic. i believe that your grandmother and uncle is safe because all she wants to do is to remove herself, besides if she wanted to hurt them, she might have done it long ago. maybe she wants attention. a little care and concern doesn't hurt. all the best to you. |
