Dentist told me to remove all 4 wisdom teeth? |
I m having very small decay which cant be seen in Xray, its too tiny like small dot. so Today the doctor told me that I need to get removed all 4 wisodm teeth . I dont think its necessary to remove all 4 teeth without any problems. I am scared very much as I have no tolrence for pain, Im scared after I come back home how will I manage , how will I take care of my little baby who is 7 month old, she keeps jumping on my face, pullingmy nose, hair etc... How will I manage, if I do the surgery later in the months there is a risk of getting infected in wisdom teeth. Please advise me... I am 30 yr old women with no family here in USA. i don't think it needs to be removed all 4 at a time, do they charge u lots for these? i heard from my frd his dentist always called him for appointment and fixed this and that while it's not a big problem at all...some dentists just want to earn your money i think if your dentist says u need it done, then do it. i dont like pain either but you should do whats right for u. theres not a big chance of it becoming infected. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wisdom_tooth I'm sixteen and I had my four wisdom teeth out a few months ago. It's not as bad as it seems. It took me about a week or so to look completely like myself again, only because my cheeks were a little puffy. You will need some sleep though, for a little while after the surgery. I recommend you just get them out before they become infected...sounds like that would hurt more than getting them out now. i had all 4 removed. don't get the iv, just ask for shots. i was totally coherent, and it was completely painless. that way you won't be totally knocked out, with a child on your hands. How come? I do not know any person who have 4 wisdom teeth all at the same time. Are they "impacted"? decayed? its best to get all 4 out at one time... because chances are down the road the ones you dont have out will bother you eventually and you will have to go through this again... Its best if you could find a babysitter for you child for maybe a day or two... preferably a family member to watch your child.. the first two days after surgery are the most critical... you will be on powerfull painkillers. i only needed 2 of my wisdom teeth out, but was advised by my specialist to get them all out at once so i wouldnt have to go through the pain and suffering more then once.... good luck I just had mine out in August. I too was extremely scared, but the pain is really very minimal. They do put you to sleep during the operation and then they give you pain meds for post surgery. You may need someone to help you with your baby for about 1-2 days, as the doctor will tell you not to lift anything or bend or the such. But, I was eating solids and back to my normal self after about a week or so. It's not that bad and you should probably listen to your dentist as we are not professionals on here. But Good Luck! Do what the doctor says. If he says you need to get them out, GET THEM OUT. you should get it done and as soon as possible Well I had my wisdom teeth removed because even though they were not bothering me now in the future they will. Its very hard to clean those teeth all the way in the back and latter that can be the cause of decay. Its also hard to fill since its soo far back. I was scared out of my pants because I have two little boys and I new they were going to cause even a bigger problem. But I got them removed while being totally asleep. I didn't feel any pain and I was soooo numbed. They also gave me some pain medication and it helped its just annoying that you can eat hard foods for like 2 weeks. For the sake of your health and your child please go ahead and have it done. It will be better to do all 4 at once and just get it over with than having to go back and have surgery multiple times. If they are rotting that will eventually cause an infection. This infection could be very bad and could lead to severe problems. Think about your child if you are that sick, what will they do then? Just do it and get it over with. They will either numb the area or knock you out completely and cut them out. Yes, the area will be sore, and yes, you can get infections if you do not care for yourself properly after surgery. You must keep your mouth clean and wash it after eating. Just follow your doctors instructions and you should be fine. The are will be sore and swollen for about a week, but that will be a lot better than the potential infection and other problems that just leaving them could lead to. you need to understand why he wants to take them out. some cause all sorts of problems. others do not. I got mine done 2 days ago...trust me!! it's not that bad, cuz afterwards, they give you enough medicine/tell you how much advil to take so it's really not that bad...trust me...just do it. and right now, it's been 2 days, and the pain is pretty much gone.. I had all four wisdom teeth removed. 2 surgically removed and 2 pulled out. I had to get them removed because I had recently got my braces taken off and my teeth were moving because of my wisdom teeth pushing on them. The doctor recommended I take at least four days off to recover, that was alot for me to do because I am a work-aholic. So I comprimised and did the surgery on a Friday and The following Monday was a holiday. So I was only taking one day off of work. As far as the pain goes, I do not have a high tolerence for pain either. But they put me under and I didn't feel any pain during the procedure. As far as recovery I was just swollen really bad i had chipmuck cheeks. I took maybe 2 pain pills and that was maybe the day of and the day after. Just make sure you take your anitbotics and eat soft foods, like mashed potatoes and mac n cheese, smoothies, shakes. I hate going to denist and this experience for me was one of the best. I say go for it....just do what the doctor says for a speedy recovery. I was fine a day or so later, just swollen. get them pulled. i did before the pain and from hearing other peoples experiences i made the right choice and it wasn't that bad. you get over it in a couple of days. plus its like the best sleep youll ever have. IT HURTS If you have decay on the cheek side of your wisdom tooth this is due to it being very difficult to get your toothbrush to this area to clean real well. The reason most dentists want the wisdom teeth out is they re difficult to keep clean and most people do not have enough room for them to come in completely. They cause decay and crowding of other teeth by pushing there way in.Its best to have them all done at once however this is not always possible due to time or financial issues. If there is decay present in one or two of them take care of those first. If you think you ll need the others out soon its best to have all done.As far as your child goes see if your husband can take a Friday off if he works Mon-Fri that way you have three days to recuperate without him taking to much time off work.Schedule it first thing in the morning so you ll have that day to rest. The next day most people are able to go about their daily routine. They do give you pain medications but you can alternate with Advil or Motrin to help with any inflammation. Then just use the stronger stuff for night time if you need to.You want to have these out on your own terms.Don't wait until your in pain from decay to force you to have it done. This way you can plan and have arrangements in place so it can go as smoothly as possible.Good Luck!! I am also 30 and just had my bottom 2 wisdom teeth cut out Friday. My suggestion is to find a babysitter that your little one can get use to now and that can take care of the baby while you re coop from the surgery. That way you are there still but you don't have to worry about something happening cause you have help. Everyone is different when it comes to the pain and the recovery time. DONT, u gonna be dumb as a doorstop afterward EVERYONE HAVE TO GET THERE WISDOM TEETH REMOVED ITS NOT THAT BAD THEY GIVE YOU NOVICANE TO KEEP IT FROM HURTING |
