Is it possible for a sociopath to fool everyone, including psychologists?

I swear my ex husband is a sociapath. he has a lot of the traits of a sociopath. He has this "god complex" like no rules apply to him. he has no remorse for anything he does. he refuses to be held accountable for any of his actions. He deludes himself into thinking everything is everyone else's fault. Never his own. For example, if he misses a turn b/c he's talking on the phone to you. he'll say " I missed my turn cuz I was busy talking on the phone to you"he's also abusive and violent. And very manipulative. He puts on a really good act for people who don't really know him and can not keep anything long term. Friends, girlfriends, homes, etc.

He's had a psych eval and managed to pass it! I don't see how. I wouldn't care except for the fact we have a young child together and I am worried that his issues will affect my son and our parental relationship. We all know sociopaths are master manipulators and the best actors. Is it possible that they could fool even professionals?

Oddly enough, he had managed to fool the court system as well. It takes people a while to see his true colors.

Most Professional will tell you no they can not fool them. in my experience i have seen it over and over again. As you said they are master of manipulation. The word sociopath i would not exactly use.Take a look at this and see if you can identify with this

I have been where you are I am actually right where you are, walking away was the hardest thing we have ever had to do.good luckYou are 100% right to have concern for your Son.

I am just guessing but there was some reason you married him. Maybe the question should be is why did you seek out some one like him???? Seems he fooled you also. Are you jumping in before you look, or did you marry him with the proper motive. There has to be a reason you picked him and now find his mental behavior unacceptable.

Yes it is a sociopaths big thing to fool the system!

Lucky for you to get involved with him. I don't envy you.

Yes, they can fool people who don't really know them well. But, sadly, some of the "professionals" don't always look for some things I'd look for or just are fooled by his cool exterior.

These guys need to be put into a situation where they are asked the right questions to get them rialed up, then the real them comes out.

All you can do is keep a running journal of what he does and when, document it very well with examples. And yes, it does affect the child, that's why you may want to contact Child Protective Services if you have any proof of him doing anything wrong.

If you can get others who know him well to document his behavior that will help a great deal. The problem is, our lousy court system thinks that you are just an angry ex out to get him. There is an old boy system alive and well that works against us too, but, with persistence and proof, we can prevail.

"For God so loved the world that He Gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that whosoever would believe on Him will not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
