Does anyone has or had an "angry face"?

Kind like that mother's saying, "If you make that face, it'll stay that way."? I did, for most of my teen and young adult years. Never thought about it that much. I always thought that was my natural look passed down from my family. (My uncle looked very upset all the time when I was a kid. My mom and dad looked normal, though) Until I became more aware of it when I was 32 (I'm 35 now), that this was'nt my natural face. Deep down inside, I WAS angry and it was showing on my face, even when relaxed. Angry at my family life (we were poor), angry at being involved with a cult for most of my youth, and angry at being stuck in a 4 year relationship with woman that I knew in my heart did'nt care for me, but I stayed for mostly the sex and fear of being alone. Long story short, through self help books, advice on the net, New Age methods, and a close female friend of mine, I managed to "morph" my face to my normal, friendly and approachable look now. Anyone else out there can relate?

Um... yeah I think I can relate. Our emotions affect us in many ways physically. I went through a very tough time a couple of years ago. Now I notice any pictures of me from that time are really odd - my forehead had worry lines, my eyes looked lost, and my smile looked "fake". But I pulled through and now I look softer and more myself again.
So yeah I agree that our deepest emotions can affect our looks or expressions.
I'm glad you were able to pull through too!

Awwww! Heya Rommie!
I love friends who help us through hard times. I probably wouldn't be here if it weren't for mine. : ) Report It

You should get someone to talk to. Go to a doctor or anything like that. Go to one of those people that u talk to and they make u sit on a sofa and tell them whats happening. (right now i cant remembere what there called.

My mom has a permant frown .she always looks mad even if she isn't is just the way she looks!

I can't help it but to answer this. I know your going to scream when you read this. (Well, you know me.) I'm glad that got that angry look off your face. Good for you that your able to get through this on your own.
