Can mammography be done on breast with silicon?

A bit naive on my part but can women with silicon implants in their breasts undergo mammography? Hurts a bit this process even with non implants what about the ones who have should they be removed every time an annual check up is to be done?

how would you remove them? surgery? every year when you have one?????
they can have a mamogram no problem. and the drs know right away if you have them so dont think you're trying to hide anything.

MRI is the gold standard and ultrasound can be helpful as well. Check with your GYN about this.
