Anyone know a list of preventive tests we should be having done?

You know, have a mammography starting at 50(?), cholesteral, colonoscopy, etc., etc?

I am about to enter my mid-30s and my family has had it all from Breast Cancer to Colon Cancer to Heart Disease. Is there a calendar for everything or is it that each disease has to be researched. I understand history determines some ages but a comprehensive with those exceptions would be huge. Does it exist??

mammography should be done by the age of 30 if you have a genetic factor for breast cancer.

Colonoscopy at the age of 50 or earlier if you see unusual symptoms,

Cholesterol can be checked anytime and in mid 30's i think would be a good time for you, my cholesterol was high at the age of 28.

Colon Cancer Screening for someone with family history should be done 10 yrs from the age of that person's age of discovery. Or by 40, whichever is first. My Dr, who also has family history, errs on the side of caution and sends all her patients 15 yrs prior. Report It
