What is sclerosing adenosis?

this was the diagnosis on my stereotactic breast biopsy and I'm not sure what it is, although it said it was negative for malignancy

I see this often of breast biopsy pathology reports. The most important thing is that this is a benign condition, and many women have it!

"Sclerosing adenosis is a benign condition whereby extra tissue grows within the breast lobules. It can cause recurring pain, or result in a small, firm lump in the breast....Having sclerosing adenosis doesn't increase your risk of breast cancer, but it is important to continue to be breast aware and to go back to your GP if you notice any further changes."

That would be a hardening of a gland. That is what the term would "translate" to. So you probably had an irritated or inflammed gland in your breast.
