He was bitten 7 days ago. I'm worry if this is a case of malaria, cuz i know is dangerous. Do you think this is a case of malaria?. What should he does?. Actually he is in South of Vietnam, if it is better to go to the hospital, where is better in Vietnam?..... PD: he didn't take pills before go to travel, could he does it now?, this pill will be ok if its malaria? he isn't american.... Thank you a lot for your suggestion, oppinions

well you havent explained the symptoms properly the symptoms you explained could be anything like a cold or flu or not getting enough sleep

The first symptoms of malaria (most often fever, chills, sweats, headaches, muscle pains, nausea and vomiting) are often not specific and are also found in other diseases (such as the "flu" and common viral infections).
Travellers who become ill with a fever during or after travel in a malaria risk area should seek prompt medical attention and should inform their physicians of their recent travel history. Neither the traveller nor the physician should assume that the traveller has the flu or some other disease without completing a laboratory test to determine if the symptoms are caused by malaria.
Malaria symptoms can develop as early as six to eight days after being bitten by an infected mosquito or as late as several months after departure from a malarious area, after antimalarial drugs are discontinued. Malaria can be treated effectively in its early stages, but delaying treatment can have serious consequences.

This is some information from the health authorities for travellers. Sounds like your friend should go straight to the doctor or hospital without delay.

Malaria gives rise to high grade fever with chills, usually on alternate days. Slight debilitation, headache is less likely to be malaria. Anyway, he must see a doctor, wherever he is. Antimalarial medicine will be OK, even if he does not have malaria. The curative dose is more than the preventive dose.

malerias symtoms come in cycles. i think its every 45 or 72 hours. it doesnt sound like he has malaria, but it could be dengue fever or something else.
i spent 5 months in the are and little illnesses are just the same as what u can get at home. but if it lasts for more than about a week he should go to the docs to get it checked out just to be safe.

Your friend has a lot of the symptoms of malaria. He should get a medical evaluation as soon as possible.Malaria is quite common in any tropical area,so any hospital will be able to diagnose and treat him (if he does have malaria ).My brother contracted malaria in Vietnam, and after 40 years he still has attacks of it.I was lucky, after three tours in Vietnam,I did not contract it.Please don't depend on this board to diagnose any medical problems.Have your friend get medical help as soon as possible.Malaria is a serious disease.
