My sister went to a nursing home for the hollidays, (just to visit), during her visit there was someone with Malaria.. I tried looking up how its transmitted, and I can only find mosquitos. Are there anyother ways it can be spread? malaria can only be transmitted through mosquito bite. well if the area is endemic for malaria, your sister could have been bitten. but if the person with malaria got it from somewhere else, you dont have to worry Not to worry. You have to be bitten by an infected mosquito to get it. If you don't live in a tropical climate where the critters are prevalent, don't sweat it. It can be spread with Saliva and someone infected. It is very sad, we should be thankful that isnt really big here iun the USA. |
