Zoloft and malaria tablets? |
Hi there. I am travelling to asia at the end of the year, but I am also on a drug called zoloft (50mg, it's for OCD/Anxiety). When I travel I am guessing I will need to have malaria tablets like last time. Is there any risk of taking the two together? Or any other medication/injections I may need in Asia? No, there should be no interaction between the 2 drugs. Asia? Definitely Hep A, B and I assume you have been cleared for TB. There is no vaccination for Hep C. Check that all of your childhood vaccinations are up to date. There is a variety of Asian flu that is predominant in that area so you might see what variety of flu shot a general M.D. is suggesting for that. Drink bottled water depending where you are and watch how food is prepared and whether it is fresh. There are plenty of open markets there which invite contamination from microorganisms. Definitely, plan where you are going to eat and if it is reputable. Don't drink out of hotel faucets (again depending where you are going)......If it is an out of the way area, don't even take drinks with ice cubes in it with unfiltered water. For best answer it's best to ask such a question from a professional like a doctor |
