Moving abroad - malaria tablets?

What do you do if you are travelling abroad and require malaria tablets? What is required for children under the age of 2yrs as well?

For children malarone paediatric is probably the best option, its based on weight, but larium is also suitable for young children for long term use. For adults Doxycyline and Larium are suitable for 2 years plus, and malarone for upto 6 months (as no studies on longer use has been carried out yet).

But it ulitimately depends on where you are going and seasonal influences, such the wet seasons. It is advisable to visit your local travel clinic for further advice.

Depends where you are moving to. I lived in Africa and never took tablets but was highly aware of natural stuff like not wearing perfumes, wearing cotton long sleeved tops and long cotton trousers, using citronella and lavender oils and keeping the mosquito nets in place. I never had any problems.
