I am sensative or allergic to magnesium - has anyone heard of this? |
I had a bad reaction to Doan's back pills years ago, and the main ingredient was Magnesium (now in a new formula). I get shaky and feel like I am coming down with something - and it traces to something with Magnesuim or magnesium sterate in it. (Disani water makes me dizzy, especially if I am very thirsty - it has magnesium added ) Kyolic Garlic also has magnesium - and I felt worse - not better like my friend who swears by it. sorry to name products - most people have absolutely no problem with them. I also now choose by pain relief medicine (a) and vitamins (b), based on which pills don'tuse Magnesium sterate in them as a binder (a) or magnesium (b) . I am also sensative to MSG - makes me tired and a bit flaky - similar reaction to Magneium. What foods are high in Magnesium? I know that magnesium is one of the important things our bodies need, but not for me. My scientist brother says that an allergy is unlikely and and the amount in those items is very small. Ideas? I can't tell you all you want to know about Magnesium but from what i have been told by many pharmasists it affects the brain and should not be taken in large or small doses for any lenght of time .I use to suffer gastric pain and here you can buy them in tablet form you place them under the tongue and get just about immediate relief .I think in your case maybe you have to much of this already from normal foods where they dont use the word Magnesium but a world health number for the chemical .Msg use to make me sick as in vomit the chinese used it a lot to tenderise there meat some fast food outlets are said to use it espessially Mc Donalds But I like to have some mac'as occasionally so I take some tablets I have first then I have no problems as for the chinese they have learnt here that msg is bad for us and now advertise if they use msg or not most dont now .Any way nice to discuss this believe me we are not the only people with these 2 problems .Have a nice day ...from john. It is very possible to be allergic to magnesium. I was given a form of it during labor 8 years ago. My kidneys did not filter it out and I was very sick for a long time and other things were discovered. It is listed that I should not have it in this way anymore. I am careful with MSG because it gives me migraines. I would research the idea that you may have GERD Gastroesophegeal Reflux Disease. I think your body may be telling you something. There are some other Colitis diseases that can cause a malabsorption of many vitamins and minerals. I know that it is in medications, but I do not seem to have that issue. Be careful. Do you see an allergist? I think you might consider seeing one. Good luck. |
