Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) are a safe, effective treatment for constipation. 1-2 tablespoons of Epsom Salts dissolved in warm water.

You are better off with a laxative-specific, OTC solution. Followed by lots of water to accelerate the process.

If you are sensitive to the mag then yes. Some people will have increased motility when taken magnesium, or maalox/mylanta that has magnesium. For some people though, it doesnt affect them much.

Just take some Milk of magnesia at night when you go to bed----it will get you up the next morning......
