Is magnesium good for leg cramps?

i am having strong leg cramps. Is magnesium good for that

Yes it is but but besides a magnesium deficiency your problem could also be a deficiency of potassium, calcium or Vitamin B6.

suggest u see your doctor in case there is a medical reason for this, also are u sitting in one position for a long time as this also can cause probs

I thought in was potassium - eat bananas

Potassium. Also, cramp is frequently a sign of dehydration. Increase your intake of water.

not sure, but tonic water seems to help....don't ask me why!

I find it very helpful, especially for night cramps, the kind that wake you up at night.
Make sure you're getting enough calcium, too--the lacks often go together.

Yes,try Quinine. You can get it from your doctor, and they put small amounts of it into Tonic Water, that's why it helps :)

theres a produce called crampex available from pharmacies which is for cramps so at least chat to yr pharmacist, preferably tho see yr doc first to find out why. also doc may prescribe something

I get this everynight in bed. I recently had a back op and this is the side effect. The doctor wanted to rescribe quinine but I am against taking too many drugs so everynight about an hour before bed i drink about half a pint of Tonic water. After about a week of doing this i have noticed a reduction in the ammount of cramps I'm getting. You can add a little orange or apple juice to the tonic but not Gin.
