Does anyone know if taking Potassium and Magnesium supplements will control seizures ?? |
I just wanna know if Potassium and Magnesium supplements will control seizures. I'm currently taking those two supplements and I haven't had a seizure. But with the Holiday rush I forgot to take it for the past 2 days and been sleeping late. I think that's what caused my seizure this morning. But does anyone know if the supplements I'm taking controls seizures or if anyone is taking non-prescription meds that's controlling their seizures ? My Doc puts me on potassium. I dont have seizures but once in awhile I have an anxiety attack and after passing out My whole body shakes real bad. but it only happens about once every two years since I was 8. I have never heard of such a thing. And I can't believe that your doctor would tell you to take supplements to try and control your seizures rather than taking something like Neurontin or Lyrica. There is NOTHING approved that is not a prescription that will control seizures. I doubt the magnesium and potassium were doing anything for you since you did have a seizure this morning. Please call your doctor. I have epilepsy which I do not take meds because the side effects are worse than the seizures (petit mal/partial) I have found that the atkins diet has greatly reduced the seizures. I have also noticed that the pain meds I am taking have also greatly reduced my seizures. No one has a explanation for that!!!! I have never heard of magnesium or Potas to help with seizures but every body is different. I will look into that but I must say that the atkins idet is low in those chemicals which is similar to the ketogenic diet which can be used to treat seizures. I am interested to see what other have to say also. Try to keeo this open for a while...extend the exp. date |
