Can you ingest to much Calcium or Magnesium?

I have been taking a calcium/magnesium supplement for years. Could it be harmful in any way?

Celtic is right. More than around 2000mg of Calcium daily will constipate you. As you are taking a Calcium supplement combined with magnesium this counters the binding effect of Calcium in high doses. Your body needs around 400mg of Magnesium daily and can tolerate around 3,000 mg daily!!

Anyone with kidney malfunction should not take more than 3,000mg of magnesium on a daily basis.

It can constipate you badly, also too much calcium can cause kidney stones.

to much protien is mad so i am guessing so is that

YES.
If you are taking vitamins just keep to the recomended daily value. If you have been told to increase this in your diet, do so sensibly. Your body can only digest and use so much anyhow. Extra would be a waist and too much would lead to an overdose.
You can injest too much of anything even water.

well Magnesium from what i understand can be directly harmfully i added a source bellow, and also calcium is the major part of kidney stones so i think that could be harfull 2 but only in large doses but there are lots of theories about taking vitamin supplements and how it could be bad.

if you have been taking it for yrs you know by looking on the bottle that it gives you daily limit...don't exceed that limit and you'll do just great...we all need calcium and the magnesium goes with it to help our bodies absorb it...

Well, anymore that you take, will come out in your poop or urine.

Yes, it could be harmful. I have read that too much calcium could cause kidney stones. Call the doctors office and find out for sure.
