This is a contagious disease, occuring when a peron is eating meat from a cow, infected with a mad cow disease. There were incidents in tanzania, with cannibalism, called kuru-kuru, there is a hereditary counterpart of this also, called CJD, but it is extremely rare.If I am not mistaken, the disease became especially widespread, when animals were fed with remains of animals with prions int heir organisms (i know it is gross!!). |
