Human Version of the Mad Cow Disease?????? |
Is this possible? I hear it is rare and that is has occured in SouthEast Asian countries. However my friend has told me she has contracted it and is being looked after by 3-4 doctors who are in shock. They have never seen this and already blisters in the mouth and tongue have started and she has been experiencing rashes. Tell me more if anyone knows more on this. I do not think your friend has Creutzfelt-Jacobs disease. It can only be confirmed with a brain biopsy. It does not cause blisters. Hand foot and mouth disease causes blisters. Mad Human Disease Human 'mad cow disease' is called variant CJD (creutzfeld-jakob disease). It is caused by eating meat infected with mad cow disease. Over 100 people have died in the UK (where mad cow disease started) of variant CJD so far, there have been very few cases elsewhere. It's called Kuru and it originally came from cannibals - no joking. Creutzfeild-Jakob disease (the spelling could be wrong)they talked about it on X-files What? BSE? That scares been around for 20 some years now, how can you not have heard of it?! There was a massive scare in britain when it was discovered that Mad cow disease could be transmitted to humans, causing vCJD. a couple of cases were seen in britain I think :/ Seeing as its so rare, I doubt your friend has it, but who knows... She does NOT have the human form of mad cow disease or variant Jacob Creutzfeld disease as it is sometimes called. I'm not sure what her doctors are seeing, but from your description, there is absolutely no suggestion of the disease. Bovine Spongioform Encehpalitis. (mad cow disease) is incurable. A cure is, with modern medicine, impossible as the disease is not caused by a virus or germ but a protein called a "prion". Under normal circumstances the protein is harmless but for some reason it can become "twisted", "bent" or "folded". When it does, it attacks the brain leaving microscopic holes in the brain which cause a deterioration in both mental and physical facultys and ultimately cause death. |

neither ...No cure. And sometimes it doesn't show up for like 20 years after you've eaten the meat. You couldn't pay me enough to eat beef again! ...Feeding the cows healthy foods, not other animal products. Keep the cows in good living conditions and let them roam around in big spaces. Give the cows clean, fresh water. Purdey and other re... No, there's no cure. The affected animal must be destroyed, without being fed to other animals. That's where the breakdown is now; some of the infected animals are being fed to other cows... didnt the bulls give it too the cows (that what made the cows so mad) ...Nope ... we've still got lamb. Yum, my favourite! ...what a stupid idiotic question!!!! Can't you find something more intelligent to ask about? ...I used to date a guy that was a farmer and he had a mad cow and it used to not give milk because it was spiteful and mad at the farmer but the farmer didn't think it was a disease or anything.... |
