What are some solutions to mad cow disease? |
i need this for a school speach !!!!!! i all ready know what it does and means i need a solution Feeding the cows healthy foods, not other animal products. a shotgun. lol jk umm, finding a cure iusing a cow that has mad cow disease? It's not a problem in the USA look for info about improving the living condition of cows, ie, so they are not all crammed in a feedlot together mad cow disease is an infection caused by a prion. A protein which acts similarly to a virus which infects the brain/nervous system of cows (and people!!). The disease is common in sheep called "scrapie". It jumped species when cows were fed byproducts-namely sheep brains and spinal columns ground up and added to other ingredients in cattle feed. The simple solution would be to feed cattle a herbivorous diet (cows are not carnivores) or at the very least avoid feeding them the most infectious parts of the meat ie. brain, spine, etc. Large scale farming should be replaced with smaller farms having a greater focus on quality over quantity, that would be my suggestion. :) |
